Scout Motors Begins Hiring for Skilled Maintenance Technicians at Production Center

Initial manufacturing roles mark key milestone for South Carolina facility as construction continues

(Columbia, SC) – Scout Motors is now hiring Maintenance Technicians to join the team at its Production Center that is under construction in Blythewood, South Carolina. This announcement marks another key milestone in Scout Motors’ journey to create thousands of new career opportunities for the Midlands community and bring the next generation of Scout® vehicles to life.

For these initial hourly manufacturing roles, Scout Motors is seeking skilled maintenance technicians with at least 3+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry for both Maintenance Technician and Senior Maintenance Technician positions. Many more hourly roles will begin rolling out later as the company ramps up toward the start of production, including roles for applicants who are new to manufacturing and are interested in learning new skills through the company’s training programs. Initial production of Scout vehicles is targeted to begin in 2027.

As part of this hiring initiative, Scout Motors has partnered with readySC™, a division of the South Carolina Technical College System that provides customized training for companies bringing new jobs to the state. Through this partnership, Scout Motors is working to ensure that local talent has the opportunity to receive the technical training and support needed to step into these critical positions with confidence.

Weekly pre-hire assessment and interview events will begin on Tuesday, July 29, and continue throughout the year. These events will allow qualified candidates to engage directly with the Scout hiring team and demonstrate their readiness for these roles within the organization.

“This is an important next step in bringing our vision for Scout Motors to life in South Carolina,” said Meredith Manz, Chief Human Resources Officer at Scout Motors. “We’re excited to welcome these technicians, who will represent the first wave of hourly manufacturing employees at our Production Center – and they’re just the beginning. As we start building the team that will power our manufacturing operations, we’re proud to offer competitive pay, compelling benefits, high-quality training and career development support to equip local talent to grow with us.”
